If your code is public and your project is real, Quill is free. Forever. No "powered by" footer required, no usage cap on documents, no asterisk on the API reference. The contributors who write your code shouldn't have to write your docs too.
We're not gating on stars or downloads. We just want to make sure the program reaches actual maintained projects, not abandoned forks or paid-product disguises.

Your docs site is your docs site. No "powered by Quill" footer, no hidden tracking, no required attribution. We're proud to support OSS — we don't need a billboard for it.

Every commercial-software docs site was good once because someone who worked on open source built it that way. The least we can do is give the next generation of maintainers the same headroom.
Email oss@quilldocs.ai with the URL of your repo and a sentence on what the project does. That's it. No form, no scoring rubric.
A human at Quill checks the license, the activity, the maintainer presence. We reply within five business days. Most approvals land within 48 hours.
Quill switches your plan to OSS and removes every limit. If you already had a Starter or Pro subscription running, we refund the unused portion. You don't need to ask.
